Students discussed with the villagers included female literacy, employment generation programs, quality of life, focusing on better hygiene and fulfilling basic needs.The students visited homes in groups of six, conducting the survey enthusiastically, sensitively, and politely.The visit helped students become more empathetic and aware of the challenges faced by rural communities, shaping them into better citizens.
Educational Excursion in Uttarbanga Krishi Viswavidyalaya at Majhian
The visit focused on the application of biotechnology in agriculture.Students gained hands-on experience in various biotechnological techniques aimed at improving crop productivity, resistance, and sustainable farming.Students observed techniques like micropropagation for producing disease-free plants, mass multiplication, and conservation of rare species.They learned about gene manipulation for traits such as pest resistance and improved nutrition, including witnessing gene transfer and transformation.The use of DNA markers and genetic studies for crop improvement and selection strategies was explained.The visit highlighted the role of biotechnology in addressing global challenges such as food security, sustainability, and crop quality improvement.The experience enhanced students’ practical understanding and complemented their theoretical knowledge, encouraging further interest in biotechnology.
Cleanliness campaign
Our students of Yuva Tourism club participated in cleanliness drive programme in the neighbouring areas of our school to spread the awareness on the importance of healthy environment around us.
